Why do people leave me?

This is not a question that I want you to answer out loud. Just think to yourself for one second...why? oh why? would someone want to become a follower of this wonderful, light hearted, funny blog and then remove themselves from the following list?  Why??  Do I need to remind you that I am fragile?  I am fragile like grandmas china.  I try really hard not to take these things personally but,  come on people...WTH?? I used to love to look down in my followers section and see five thumbnails, FIVE.  Not a number to shout off of rooftops about but, it was five.  Today THREE!!! Where is everyone going?  I do not want to be a blog stalker but, I will if you make me.  Please don't call me high maintenance...as I am clearly NOT.  So, I give you a challenge...you up for it?  Of course you are my bloggy friends.  Please, for the love of ice cream, eye candy, and a good beer...add your thumbnail to my following list.  I know, I know...kinda pimpin my self out here but, it is just sad. THREE???  Don't get me wrong, I love the three I have but, it is just pathetic to know that I don't even have enough of a following to raise a ruckus of any kind.  So, there you have it...I am throwing the gauntlet to you my friends.  Let's see what you can do!!!

Oh, I definitely feel your pain, friend. It sucks to lose followers, but it happens to everyone. You and I lost the same *male* follower. I used to commit the same crime...adding us as followers and then later deciding against it. It is now a part of my blogging code not to do that.

Followers are difficult to build up at first, but once you find your niche, it happens a bit easier. Some tips on how to build following:

1) Participate in blog carnivals. Not-Me-Monday (http://www.mycharmingkids.net/2009/01/not-me-monday_12.html) and Works-for-Me-Wednesday (http://rocksinmydryer.typepad.com/shannon/it_works_for_me/) might be good places to start. The higher you are in the blogroll, the more hits your site will get.

2) Comment like a crazy woman. Commenting brings people to your site. You don't want to know how many hours a day I spend doing this now.

3) Follow people. Not my most favorite method, but bloggers tend to believe in reciprocity. Follow others and they will follow you.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

Good luck!

My first time here, but look - I am a follower. Just please don't tell my kids I caved to your whining! It will set a terrible precedent.
I came over from our friend Willow Tree and we have other friends in common as well. I'm looking forward to getting to know you.

I would say not to worry about it at all! I have tried to follow more blogs, but if you have no personal connection to me in ANY way, (friend of a friend..) then I can not read their blog, I just can't get into some stranger who does not even live in California! Most of the peeps, like 90% of my readers are not even bloggers or people who leave me comments. I just have settle for knowing they are there thanks to statcounter.com, perhaps that would boost your spirits. Try it out!

ps. I find your blog hilarious and I retell the stories to my husband.

I know! I actually would think it takes extra effort to remove yourself, why not just leave your thumbnail there and pretend you are reading the blog so you don't hurt anyone's feelings? Doesn't anyone understand how sensitive we can be? I think I may blog about this soon.
Love,
Your loyal follower,
Yvonne

I have decided that your blog page must just kick people off, since I absolutely did not remove myself as a follower, when I learned of that, I right away put myself back. But if I did not know, you would have thought I did it. Perhaps that has happened to the other peeps.

I'll follow you! :) BTW...I am planning to post soon about how the cloth diapering is going but all in all it's going great and I really like it. One question...did you use cloth at night? I'm a little scared to go there.

WOW, I am so glad you've blogged about this. I don't understand it either. I've been thinking about the three that fell off my list last week and you gotta wonder-- it doesn't take up space for you to continue following so you must really hate me to push that "stop following key". There is another possibility, and that may be those blogs were deleted. Some are re-doing their images right now and deleting the old stuff.
I personally think anyone that left you was a fool and it was their loss. I'm here!
