The Rules

I needed to come up with a list of rules for entering and exiting the shiny, new, pretty truck.  The rules only apply to those that are under 10 years of age and/or of the male species or stinky.  I want to keep the truck smelling new for as long as possible.  So, that being said my list is short yet important.

1.  No drinking in the truck.  I do not want that musty smell of water that has been spilled and never cleaned up.
2.  No eating in the truck.  I am so tired of having goldfish crackers stuck to my ass it isn't even funny anymore.
3.  A bath within the last 24 hours is necessary prior to entering the truck.  Yes, soap and washing is necessary.  This one is a little more difficult to monitor as I have to take your word for it...and this makes me a little anxious.
4.  My super hot hubby is NEVER EVER allowed within the confines of the truck.  It is an open bed so he can ride in the back. OK this one is a little bit mean so as long as he follows rules 1-3 he can ride in the truck.
5.  No mexican food within the last 48 hours prior to riding in the truck.  This one, I will not budge on.

While I understand that the truck will not stay all pretty and shiny and new smelling forever..If I just keep the kids and super hot hubby out of it, it will stay that way for a lot longer.

I seem to put those same rules into effect after every time I have the car washed. It stays nice for a week or even 10 days, then it's back to goldfish crumbs on the floor and handprints on the windows. Why do they insist on touching the windows??!?!

If only I could impose those rules for one day! I am such a push over sometimes! Good luck!

I know, I always LOVE that smell! Good rules, wait till gum gets stuck to your ass, that's fun.

Sound simple enough to me. Especially the mexican food one.

I liked these rules so much that I think I am going to implement them in my home. It should keep everything so much more neat and orderly. Thanks! :)

Hey! I just saw that you and Rachel (I used to be a perfect Mom) are cyber-friends. What fun. She is great and her daughter, Abigail, such a cutie! I started reading her blog because of the title. It made me laugh.

You are probably out running right now as I write this, aren't you? You are so dedicated.

When I got my van I Swore it would not be a cheerio-mobile. And I succeeded... it's a giant Happy Meal on wheels though, lol. A for Effort!

I tried .. seriously tried .. to enforce a similar set of rules with my then newer truck (Chevy Trailblazer EXT .. bright red .. Debbie knows .. suburbsanity) .. it was such a losing battle .. the grandkid NEEDS to eat in the truck (yeah .. I don't know why either) .. and the kids absolutely have to have something to drink on our long trips to town (35 miles) .. Sigh .. I give up and vacuum the goldfish crackers from under the car seat .. and fuss about the drink cans left in the truck .. and threaten no more food EVER .. this would eliminate food in the truck .. but .. the wife .. the humanitarian she is .. thinks we should continue to feed the kids ..

I'll just keep the car wash in business .. along with whoever controls those super vacs sucking my quarters at 4 for 4 minutes .. sigh
